One of the hardest things in my day is when I receive an email from a follower who tells me they’ve read all the books, blogs, watched all the YouTube videos and taken all the courses and STILL have no idea where to start.
There are so many options. It leads to overwhelm, uncertainty, and eventually, inaction.
There’s no right way to get started in your online business.
There’s no right way to grow it either.
Here’s what I did when I got started:
✏️I chose one business idea to focus on. Just one way to make money.
✏️I got clear on who I wanted to serve and how I was going to serve them. Without this clarity, there’s no way I could have connected and attracted the right clients to me, which is why there is an entire section on this in the Foundations training. A lot of people skip this step when they are just getting started, and it’s why a lot of people fail. If you’re not clear on WHO you are serving and HOW, then why would someone work with you or buy your product?
✏️I created a 90 day plan that only focused on the activities that would move me closer to my goal. That meant that anything new that came my way… it did NOT get actioned. This type of clarity allowed me to quit my day job within 10 months of starting my side hustle. It’s also what allowed me to grow quickly and replace my full-time income within 6 months.
By focusing on one business idea, one audience, and getting clear on what you need to do and when you need to do it, you create a roadmap to success.
This is exactly what I share inside The Productive Profit Plan inside Hustle HQ.
So if you’re at this point in your business or you’re at a crossroads and aren’t sure of your next steps…
How do you want to make money online? What type of business do you want to have?
Who do you want to work with every day?
What are the action steps you need to make in the next 90 days to get you there?
By getting the answers to these questions, you can have your roadmap ready to go in a few short weeks.
Inside Hustle HQ, there is a 7 day plan to get you started on getting clear on these things, so you don’t have to worry about what to do next, you just have to follow the plan!
Of course, the answers to those questions will change with time. As you progress in your online business, so will the action steps and priorities you need to take.
When I got started, I used guest blog posting and Facebook groups to promote my brand new blog. It was a great way to connect with others in my space, and also a way to start building my email list of the people I wanted to serve.
Now, Pinterest is my main source of traffic to my blog, along with Amazon as people find me through my books.
All of these options WILL look different for you. This is what works for MY business.
Here’s the thing…
You could jump straight into a bunch of Facebook groups and start promoting your blog.
You could guest blog post every week.
You could start a Pinterest account and start sharing your posts there.
But none of this will work if it’s not aligned with two things:
#1: It’s not something you’re passionate about or that you currently use yourself
#2: It’s not where your target audience is
This is why most people fail. They hear or see a strategy or tactic that they believe sounds great.
In fact, they’ve seen so many other people have success, they immediately implement it.
But it doesn’t work.
Wanna know why?
Because they didn’t check to see if it would work for them, their business, and their audience.
Consider these questions and thoughts carefully. Don’t rush off an implement without first checking to make sure it’s right for you and your business.
Sometimes when you’re lost and overwhelmed…it’s probably because you’re at step X when you haven’t put in the foundational pieces as yet.
But with a roadmap like the Productive Profit Plan, you’ll set your foundation in place from the very beginning.
PS: In The Productive Profit Plan I give you everything you need to know about creating and growing an online business — but not any business…one that has all the right foundational pieces in place to gear you for success.
I don’t give you a bunch of theory…
Instead there’s a training to help you with every aspect.
